Among the innumerable things I suspect i got out of it is a pleasing visual effect of patterns everywhere, suble but permanent. They don't affect my ability to drive. I don't know if I can work in a sober state. After 5,000 trips no such thing as "sober state" exists for me anymore. When I experience a state of consciousness that I think might be "sober" I start to become frightened.(Because of issues of "political correctness, medical researchers have in most cases been frightened to refer to the obvious truth that baseline consciousness is psychedelic, and non-psychedelic "sobriety" is in fact abnormal, frequently to the point of pathology.) "Sober" as I use the word here does not refer to alcohol. Alcohol is a chemical poison. Unlike LSD, a single use of alcohol causes permanent and irreversable organic brain damage (what had long been suspected, but only recently has medical technology gained the tools that conclusively prove it.) A single shot glass of whiskey delivers far, far more chemicals to the brain than all of my 5,000 LSD combined.

Acid scared my pimples to death...& god tells me to keep my mouth shut. I think LSD served me well, but I VERY strongly caution others that it may not be the ticket for them. There are very intelligent well-educated LSD researchers who feel that research clearly shows that once you have taken LSD, you have permanently opened a psychological 'can of worms' that takes approximately 100 trips to empty, and that if you do not completely empty the 'can of worms' you are quite likely to end up damaged.
