I really appreciated a thread over a year ago where people shared the music that was potent to them....
There is infinite music out there, and some artists have absolutely amazing work. Especially in dream states, I have become very sensitive to music and the energy that it is. Often times I can feel/know and tune into the being of the artist. I have had the honor to be in some GORGEOUS+++ dimensions with the help of music.
Some of my fav creators:
Shulman
Brian Eno's ambient works like Drawn from Life, and The Pearl
Bluetech
Carbonbased Lifeforms
Roger O'Donell
Cliff Martinez's soundtrack to the movie "Solaris"
I would love to read your favorites as well.
Blessings of abundance,
Soma

Definitely listen to thelonious monk when you're in the other realms....
his menacing piano starts to assemble the most abstract forms I've ever come accross in the psyche . . -

Re: Musical Refresher...
05/22All kinds of music move me.
But Shpongle holds a special place in my journeys, for sure. Seems to facilitate my movement, my threshold-crossing, my inner dance.
Then again, so does Joni Mitchell, Laurie Anderson, Pink Floyd; damn. It's a big question.

Re: Musical Refresher...
06/01I love Bluetech, and I use it for energy work when I do massage sessions. I think Leaving Winter Behind is one of the most powerful songs for breaking down old neural pathways and sweeping away the debris from the mind.
My current live favourites to do internal reconstruction to are Sound Tribe Sector 9 and Tipper. The latter's last few shows I have been to, at Yuri's Night at NASA, Ground Zero before New Years and then at Temple in SF were otherworldly. And STS9 has brought me back to the Source repeatedly. I'm not sure how much higher these artists can raise the bar, but I am certainly looking forward to each new journey with them!
I'll have to check out the Solaris soundtrack. Thanks for the interesting thread.

Re: Musical Refresher...
06/01For me it depends, some things sound amazing on one kind of trip, and then on another they sound hollow or annoying. For physical trips, something with a steady, fast, electronic beat really enhances the euphoria, feelings of lightness, and appreciation of beauty. For mental and dissociated (k, DXM, etc) trips, echoy, slower, more "sparkley" music works well. In general:
E Nomine
The Beatles
T-Rex
Daft Punk
The Grateful Dead
Velvet Underground
The The
Siouxsie and the Banshees
Bjork
Alice in Videoland
Fischerspooner
Middle Eastern and traditional Celtic music
Not "music", but I just love listening to those sounds of nature CDs. Flowing water, rainforests, whale songs, woods at night... great way to transport your mind to some exotic destination. -
