Ben posted this on the wikipedia tribe on the Datura thread. Below the quote is my reply.
"If you aren't ready to die you shouldn't be tripping anyway."
I love that quote. Funny how when I was young I always felt that way. My friends and I were like K Sutherland in Flatliners. We wanted to have the shit freaked out of us and have NDE. Interesting how the older I get how easy it is to forget that. It's still so true.

Re: Ready or not.
Sat, October 31, 2009 - 10:54 AMthere are so many ways to die & most of them aren't even physical...
the death of old habits & patterns
the death of out-dated idea & beliefs
the death of draining attachments
the death of life-styles & fashions
so many people are zombies or lugging around cumbersome, energy draining 'life-support systems' because of their fear of death, on any level ~ keeping stuff 'alive' at any cost, to themselves and/or anyone else
it's no wonder that zombie films are so popular with the mainstream ~ they strike a deep, subconscious chord with most people
Happy Halloween Everyone!!!
love all-ways,

Sat, October 31, 2009 - 7:21 PMUmm. That reminds me of growing up with a Swiss-German mom who loved preparing brains, beef heart, frog's legs, oysters, and escargot. to all of which we kids said, "Yuck!!!" It took us some years into our adulthood to appreciate them.... -

I vibe with that, Geert, but you and I and others have come to know what a thin veneer modern culture is, isn't it? I eventually found out how many of those marvelous dishes our grandparents, forebears, and ancestors ate that we think are "yucky." And how many are not only extremely healthy but also nutritious dishes and recipes.... -

Mon, November 2, 2009 - 6:42 AMI recall enjoying some tasty Tacos Sesos at a Mexican restaurant in Chicago. That was LONG before the tales of Mad Cow disease.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sesos
I draw the line of culinary acceptability slightly prior to Prairie Oysters/Cojones!!!

Sun, November 8, 2009 - 12:48 PMselect your allies carefully these are the substances that will be covering your ass in this world
if you can use and control Datura to your benefit, good on you
if it uses you to ITS benefit, look out
squirrelly as mushies might be, much more reliable ally always honest and working for your own good not its own - devious - agenda?
